It’s no surprise with the prevailing economic uncertainty and some employers’ reluctance to hire new staff, that finding ways to tap the skills and flexibility of freelance creative professionals is a hot topic right now.

Judging by the number of engaged professionals who attended our first Project Greenhouse event in Cincinnati recently, it’s clear just how many people want to learn more about freelancers and how they can help companies produce game-changing creative work without the burden of hiring full-time staff.

It was a summer-like March evening in Ottawa when the crowd gathered for DesignMeets Decades of Design: Taking Risks, Making Change, Building Futures at the Hard Rock Café in the Byward Market. Speakers presented in a 5-ideas, 5-slides in 5-minutes format to answer the questions: What design objects have shaped how we view the world today? Does modern-day design improve our daily lives or hinder it? How concerned should we be about sustainability?

Cocktails and Conversation Amsterdam was a great success! Sharon Alderson, Lisa Armstrong and Mandy Gilbert were onsite at Creative Niche's Amsterdam office, Spaces and met with over 25 talented creatives from the European community of advertising and design professionals. Nichers and talent discussed the creative market, had portfolio reviews and discussed opportunities in the Amsterdam area while they enjoyed a few beverages and some tasty treats. Sharon, Lisa and Mandy were even joined by top ad professionals from well known agencies.

We walked the red carpet for the first annual Notable Awards driven by Lexus. Nichers Sharon, Jenny, Taylor and Jayla were amongst the well-dressed crowd at Andrew Richards Design showroom which was transformed into a beautiful nightclub-esque awards venue.

Creative Niche’s resident resume expert Adele Wootton, Director of Client Services provided her expertise on resume writing and presentation for CAMP (Communications, Advertising and Marketing Professionals) at the North York Civic Centre on October 27th. Adele gave the crowd tips on effective writing and formatting strategies that work and proven tools that make a resume powerful and memorable.
