Creative Niche sponsors and participates in a wide variety of social and charitable events. Community involvement is just one of the many ways we try to give back, and make the places we operate in better for everyone else who operates there too.
As part of our ongoing Niche Wellness Program, Creative Niche Toronto has partnered with local health club Totum Life Science to encourage ‘Nichers’ to engage in an active lifestyle, and to make healthier choices. Totum is located the neighbourhood of our Toronto Office, on King Street West. Every quarter, the Creative Niche team heads over to Totum for a Totum University ‘Lunch-n-Learn’ which consists of an educational information session followed by a group activity.
TEDxToronto 2011 marks the second year Creative Niche has sponsored TEDxToronto and the after-party. We are delighted to be a part of the TEDx events as they align well with our philosophy of continued learning and professional development. Nichers from both the Toronto and Ottawa offices attended TEDxToronto at the TELUS Centre for Performance and Learning and the after-party Dark Carnival of the Unexpected at the Steamwhistle Roundhouse.
On October 18th, 2011, Creative Niche Toronto hosted an intimate Project Greenhouse Executive Breakfast Series, as part of our ongoing knowledge seminar series. This seminar, entitled Youth Marketing and Social Enterprise was led by Yasser Pervaiz, Managing Director of Blackboard Marketing, a social enterprise founded by The Remix Project. He spoke about how Blackboard Marketing is connecting brands with the youth market.
When Creative Niche announced our Philanthropic Partnership with The Remix Project, there was a buzz in the office. Several of the Nichers were familiar with the charity and its work through our sponsorship of TEDxToronto in 2009 and Twestival 2011. To get the entire team up to speed, we organized a tour of The Remix Project’s Liberty Village facilities and a casual pizza lunch with past Remix participants. Those unfamiliar with the charity’s works would soon learn about the positive, resourceful and empowering spirit that drives The Remix Project.
One thing that we try to do every summer here at Creative Niche is to get out of the city and spend some time together as a team. With all the interaction we do daily with talent and clients alike, it’s nice to kick back and enjoy the weekend collectively. Last week we escaped to Shamrock Lodge in Port Carling, Muskoka for some much needed R&R as our busy summer is coming to a close.
Last night the Niche was packed for Cocktails & Conversation, a mix and mingle event hosted by our very own Taylor Gilbert and the gang. Amongst the sushi and cocktails were the advertising industry’s in-demand creatives - designers, copywriters, art directors, developers and more.
In less than three hours, our resident Relationship Managers met one-on-one with over 25 professionals to discuss job opportunities both locally and abroad as well as to provide guidance and career advice.
From Vancouver to Halifax, Canada’s best design was recognized at last night’s Design Edge Regional Awards (the Reggies) held at the Gladstone Hotel in Toronto.
